  • The rise of generative artificial intelligence promises to alter the child protection landscape in critical ways, both positive and negative. Learn AI's relevance for law enforcement and MDTs, including evidence authentication, investigative utility, courtroom testimony, synthetic abuse production, and the prominence of deepfakes and sextortion. Presented by a former prosecutor, the course will also explore the challenges of existing legal frameworks and their relation to artificial intelligence.

  • Religious or spiritual themes are often weaponized by perpetrators to justify the abuse of children, and are invoked to avoid accountability and consolidate power within faith communities. This workshop provides best practices, recent trends, and practical tips and corroboration strategies for MDTs to navigate these issues.

  • When the suspect in a child abuse case is a law enforcement officer, the challenges of investigation and prosecution are amplified. This training analyzes real case examples of officers who misused their authority to target vulnerable children and avoid accountability. Led by a former prosecutor, the session equips participants with the knowledge and strategies needed to address these complex cases effectively.

  • This workshop equips participants with practical strategies to navigate and transform conflict into highly-functioning, empathetic multidisciplinary teams. It explores MDT leadership principles of psychological safety and shared decision-making, and conflict transformation theory. Attendees will gain practical skills to analyze conflict origins, employ a strengths-based approach to conflict transformation, lean into the power of the uncomfortable, and productively engage in accountability conversations.

  • This workshop, hosted in a game show format by a former prosecutor and a forensic psychologist, equips attendees to address and refute defenses frequently encountered in child abuse cases. Participants will gain insights into identifying and addressing common defenses in child sex trafficking, online sexual exploitation, and child sexual abuse, and explore practical countermeasures tailored for MDT members.

  • Despite the presence of corroborating evidence in every child sexual abuse case, child protection professionals often miss the full potential of this vital component. This workshop taught by a former prosecutor equips attendees to maximize various underutilized avenues of corroboration, focusing on forensic interviews, internet of things (IoT) devices, numerous other forms of digital evidence, and tools for practitioners.

  • Human trafficking investigations require specialized skills and innovative approaches to address the multifaceted nature of these crimes. This workshop equips investigators with the knowledge and tools to move cases from investigation to prosecution successfully.
